I found a NYD DVD titled "7 day weekend," with this tracklisting on it:

    01: Seven Day Weekend
    02: Frankenstein
    03: Mystery Girls
    04: Showdown
    05: Back In The Usa
    06: Endless Party
    07: Jet Boy
    08: It's Too Late
    09: Bad Detective
    10: Lonely Planet Boy
    11: Subway Train
    12: Private World
    13: Trash
    14: Human Being

Does anyone know what it is? Where it's filmed? Is it any good?

I searched around different sites for it now, but haven't found a lot of info.

It seems to be listed as audio dvd and it's not mentioned anywhere that this includes pictures.

Does it simply mean that it's the audio CD printed on a DVD?

If so, does anyone know why they would do that?

I'm just curious as I was hoping for another kick ass vintage NYD DVD now

I have no clue. Reviews haven't been posted on Amazon yet, so I just have the description to go by which says nothing about picture at all just goes on about how these tracks were recorded for use by Radio stations and so on.... it seems very much like a commerical for the CD version I already have (which is GREAT if anyone was wondering)... I just thought the term Audio DVD was very strange and wondering if that means just sound files on a DVD and why someone would do that when the songs would clearly fit on a normal CD.

But I'm curious as a wee buy with a new toy, so let me know if anyone has mroe info LMAO

There are Audio DVD's, which are strictly audio on the DVD technology. Why? THe sound quality is supposedly un-friggin'-believable. There is a ton more space on DVD, so there is no compression, and you can tinker with it and bring everything out. How much this would be worthwhile for a live recording of a band such as NY Dolls is an argument you state your own side on. If this is from the recent stuff, it probably sounds like you are sitting right up front of a perfectly executed live show. If this is from the original band, then it probably sounds like a really good shitty recording.

The recording is very old. It's from "before drugs and lack of success wore them down" as it says in the description on amazon.

I already have it on CD and it's definitly worthwhile for any New York Dolls fans. I think it's recorded in a proper studio for radio broadcast.... much like the BBC sessions that a lot of bands have done.

Not sure I'll buy it again cause it's on audio DVD though. Doubt my stereo is good enough to really notice the difference.

Thanks for the info Carl, I wasn't aware that they had started releasing Audio DVDs now
